HMO Programs
Many HMOs are now reimbursing a portion of their member’s health club fees. In doing so, they hope to motivate members to join a fitness club and increase their activity level. These programs are designed to encourage members to workout at fitness clubs a certain number of days each month. In return, they are reimbursed up to $20 for their membership dues. This is a win-win for all involved, and it is an attractive sales tool for our clubs.

At Apex, we have developed an easy-to-use reimbursement program. Using our system, our clients simply track the visits of participating members and then transfer a monthly usage file to us. This is done quickly and easily, as the steps have been integrated into our software and web services. Once member usage has been processed at Apex, our clients receive a reimbursement check. Apex will also make billing adjustments for each participating member.
This has been made possible through our precedent-setting partnership with the National Independent Health Club Organization. Partnering with NIHCA allows us to focus on our strengths in processing, while congruently allowing NIHCA to focus on their strengths in developing and maintaining relationships with HMO providers nationwide.
